Technological, legal, and social developments in Türkiye and around the world have created a need for qualified personnel equipped with the competencies required by the sector in line with contemporary standards. From an educational perspective, the program aims to train innovative, research-oriented, and entrepreneurial professionals equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to plan, implement, and manage pre-disaster measures such as training, public awareness activities, and project development, as well as to coordinate and manage all types of loss-reduction activities in the event of a disaster. Furthermore, the program seeks to meet the demand for qualified human resources from public institutions and organizations, local governments, private sector organizations, and non-governmental organizations operating in this field. To this end, it aims to enhance the capacity to effectively respond to emergencies and disasters and to educate professionals possessing the knowledge and skills required in the field of Emergency Aid and Disaster Management.
From a research perspective, the program aims to follow scientific developments in the field of Emergency Aid and Disaster Management worldwide, investigate issues specific to Türkiye, and generate scientific knowledge that can provide solutions to problems encountered in the sector. In addition, through scientific studies, research, practical applications, and consultancy services designed to ensure the effective, efficient, and high-quality delivery of services in the sector, the program aims to contribute to improving the performance and efficiency of institutions providing Emergency Aid and Disaster Management services to society.
